ALPHAVILLE - International Video Store

We offer the widest selection of films available anywhere in Vienna, comprised of more than 10000 titles on DVD and (still) nearly 4000 on VHS. Rather than concentrating on a particular genre or type of film, we have put together a wide range of titles including both cult classics and current blockbusters. Our films are available predominantly in the European PAL system and on Region 2 DVDs.

Membership Conditions & Prices

Membership:
Membership is EUR 11.- for one year (365 days)
All we need for you to join is a valid form of ID (passport, driver's license, student ID,...)

Pricing:
All DVDs are EUR 3,60.- per night.
VHS releases are EUR 2.- per night.
Films for Kids on VHS are EUR 1,40.- per night.

There is NO EXTRA CHARGE for films taken out over weekend, so
films taken from Saturday to Monday are charged as ONE NIGHT!

Monday - Friday: 12pm - 8pm
Saturday: 12pm-10pm
Sundays & Holidays: 2pm - 7pm

About The Films:
When Alphaville was founded, our goal was to make our selection as eclectic as possible. While much of our stock is undoubtedly mainstream, films which could probably be found at any other English-language videostore, not a single genre has been left out.
Our assortment includes animation, shorts and documentaries, cult classics and arthouse films, and a number of downright obscurities.
Some areas we focus on especially are:

Classics

From the pioneers of filmmaking to Panavision Spectacles, we've (nearly) got it all. Hitchcock, Capra, Wilder, Lubitsch, you name it.

Foreign Films

Foreign being anything NOT in English. More than 3500 titles from dozens of countries, some in languages you've probably never heard of. Brush up on your Kurosawa, Godard, Truffaut, Bunuel and Fassbinder, enjoy the recent arthouse favourites from France, Spain, Iran and Eastern Europe, or try some of the more outlandish examples of New Asian Cinema. It's all here, freshly imported goods from every region of the world. All Subtitled.

TV Series

Get your fresh dose of TV Culture, ranging from Curb Your Enthusiasm to Sex & The City, Oz to 24, Buffy to Angel, Six Feet Under to The West Wing. And Star Trek. Obviously.
